An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Saturday rejected a police request for the physical remand of former Gilgit-Baltistan chief minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Khalid Khurshid, sending him to jail on a 14-day judicial remand.
Khurshid was produced before ATC Judge Abul Hasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain after being arrested by federal police. While the police sought a 30-day physical remand for the former chief minister, the court declined the request and ordered his transfer to prison.
The legal action follows a case registered against Khurshid at the Aabpara police station in Islamabad.
