The Lahore High Court has sought a report by 12 October on the provision of basic facilities to Noreen Niazi and Dr Uzma Khan, sisters of former prime minister Imran Khan. Pakistan Today reported the hearing on 9 October.
The applications concerned access to items including medicines, clothing and books during their detention. Justice Abher Gul Khan asked for a written list of the requested items so the court could consider what should be permitted.
The proceedings were adjourned until 12 October for the report. The hearing dealt with facilities during detention; it was not a release order or a final ruling on their detention. The next report will provide the court with the information requested at this stage.
