Sindh has sought $350 million in World Bank financing for a proposed flood-resilience project, Business Recorder reported on 9 October. Provincial minister Jam Khan Shoro presented the plans to a visiting World Bank delegation.
The proposal covers protection along the right bank of the Indus and measures to strengthen secondary cities against flooding and extreme heat. It links river protection with the resilience of urban communities.
The reported timetable anticipates project documentation in December 2026 and possible World Bank board consideration in March 2027. The financing is a request under preparation, rather than an already approved or disbursed package; the eventual scope and timing depend on the approval process.
